My name is Davaadalai. I arrived at Taiwan on September 7th 2010. When we landed at National Taoyuan Airport, Miss Lin first guided us to National United University. I started to study at NUU with my cousin and friends. After arriving Taiwan, I felt little bit depressed, it was super hot for me. I never had this feeling before. My classmates had shocked that I am a Mongolian. They thought that I was living in ancient house called "GER". They also asked me, Can you ride a horse??? This kind of nonsense makes me feel uncomfortable. But now it is fine for me. I can understand why and what they think about my life in Mongolia. And they also try to understand me much than the past.
At first, the courses were a bit hard for me. Because I had never learned with in two languages (Chinese & English); however my teachers help me a lot. Therefore, it is not so hard for me anymore. They help me more than I can image, because I am the first foreign student of our department. My classmates help me a lot improve my studying. I have Chinese learning class three hours a week. Dr. Chien teaches us who come from abroad. It is interesting to study Chinese and it is no so easy to speak Chinese. Now I can talk in easy greeting saying. I have to mention my tutor Abby Hsieh, her English is good and good at all courses. So she helps me a lot that I can't understand especially in my studying; even on the littlest things.
I travelled around Kenting and few cities on the way to Kenting with my classmates and friends. I joined in autumn trip of NUU and made a handcraft, went hiking and took a hot spring at Daihu. I also joined our school birthday festival. Then we made a little party. I spent at Taipei during this New Year Vacation watching Taipei 101 firework. I never saw this before; it was so amazing and very wonderful.
In the beginning, my feeling about Taiwan was bit sad, but it changed. People in Taiwan are so friendly and kind. My professors and classmates are patient to me. Now I am glad to study at National United University in Taiwan.
